Livin' the Dream.

this year for october break, i had the opportunity to travel to carlsbad, california and the beautiful puerto vallarta, mexico. this break could not have been more perfect.
getting away was exactly what i needed.
i had a break from school, from cross, from family, and even from friends.
needless to say, i was spoiled with great amenities, friends, and locations.{A}

Snowdays.

my favorite part of the christmas season is realizing that i will be doing that long, boring drive up to beautiful utah to shred {sorry for the bro-talk} with my family. seriously, my family loves skiing. we've done it for as long as i can remember. my dad tells us to miss as least school as possible so we have our absences available for snow days. yes, you heard that right. when a good storm hits, my dad will some times take us out of school and head up to utah for the weekend strictly for skiing. what could be better than that, right?! nothing.
today another issue of SKI magazine came to my house. and every time they do, i get so excited because it means that the skiing is just around the corner.
i'm so excited for ski season this year, i don't think i can contain my excitement!

Pessimist.

lately, people have been calling me a pessimist. and to be honest, it's really bothering me. people can say negative things about me {i've learned to handle it}, but when they call me a negative person, it really hurts. i like to think of myself as a pretty happy, optimistic person. i'm not going to sit here and try to prove it to anyone because
i know that i am and that's all that should matter.
what i'm trying to get at, think about the things you say to others and how it might make them feel. and for those who are getting totally shafted {teased/picked on} all the time {me} just don't let the little things people tell you get to you, because then you really do become a pessimist. and lets be honest, no body wants to be associated with negativity.
k, that's all.

In the Words Of...

glenn cunningham: people can't understand why a man runs. they don't see any sport in it. argue it lacks the sight and thrill of body contact. yet, the conflict is there, more raw and challenging than any man versus man competition. for in running it is man against himself, the cruelest of opponents. the other runners are not the real enemies. his adversary lies within him, in his ability, with brain and heart to master himself and his emotions.
no one could've said this better. seriously. he's the first person who actually understands what we do and can put it into words.
sincerely,
