SUMMER '09!

OH MY GOSH, I just had my very last day of junior high ever yesterday!
I get to go to the big Moutain View NEXT YEAR! Its in a matter of months its so close!

Honestly, Im not focussed on how much Im gonna miss Stapley right now. I am looking at my future & cannot wait to see what's gonna happen! I am so optimistic, Im not scared. Everyone is so nervouse for high school & Im counting down the days it seems! I can't wait to get my sophmore friends back, driving, & dating. Im growing up so fast. My mom has never been the type of mom who cries when they're kids get on the bus for their first days of school, but now that my sister has GRADUATED high school & is leaving us for Brigham Young University in Provo, she really is getting sad. All my friends are so sad to see their siblings go. It hasn't hit me yet, but once she really leaves me, I know its going to be so hard.
Within in these past months, Brooklyn has become one of my best friends. I hope I can spend alot of time with her this summer before she leaves because I want to have the best of memories with her before she leaves. She left me speechless at graduation. She gave an amazing speech, I cheered so loud. I have never been more proud of her. I am so lucky I get to call her my sister. She's too legit to quit.

Anyways! I am so excited for this summer. I am so relieve to get out of Stapley! Im so excited to make more friends. Ah! Hooray! My summer consists of: Youth Conference, Girls Camp, Coronado, Newport, Utah, EFY, the lake, & maybe Mexico! This summer is going to be so great. I cannot wait till it really starts! It still hasn't hit me that Im done with school..its so weird! No more Stapley?! It went by so fast...

MAEAB

Madi, Alex, Emily, Abby & Brittlyn.
This my group of girls. They are my bestfriends. I spend every weekend with them. I tell them everything. They know me like no one else. We always have each others backs. We are sisters. Our parents call us all their other daughters. They love me for me. And most importantly, I trust them with anything!
This weekend we all went to our 9th grade dance together. Its the big end of the year party pretty much only its put on by the school & its PTO. They give out awards & they give us our yearbooks early. Then everyone just goes crazy & dances like there's no tomorrow!
Before we went, we all were thinking it was gonna be dumb & no one was gonna dance, but then we got there and EVERYONE was having fun! It was so unexpected because our class is so shy. Ha.
The theme was 70's. Alex & I dressed up before we went but then she decided to go to dinner before so she didn't drive with the rest of us there. Madi, Emily, Brittlyn & I got in crazy outfits ready to party. It was SO fun getting all dressed up!

I am sad to leave Stapley but I am so excited for this summer. I cannot wait to see how my life changes over these next few months as I prepare for the big Mountain View! I really hope I stay best friends with these girls throughout summer & the years of high school to follow.
love,
Abby PS-4 days till summer!

Happy Mother's Day!

So my Mom always talks about how she could never keep up with her own blog, yet she totally reads every other blog known to man. Everyone who has one agrees that its one of the easiest ways to keep in touch with families who are long distances away from each other. Anyways, today is Mother's Day! Yesterday was one of the happiest days I've ever had...I got to do a triathlon with my mom! This wasn't my first triathlon, but it was my first triathlon that wasn't adjusted to my age-it was for anyone. It was a sprint triathlon. My mom & I did the buddy wave. You getta be with someone (usually a coach) the whole way.
This meant me watching my mom's bubbles as she kicked underwater for 800m, her helping me out of the water & helping me unzip my wet suit, her telling me to drink more water as we road along the highway for 13 miles, her handing me electrolyte pills so i wouldn't get dehydrated, running along side her as we completed 3.1 mile run, learning the true definition of 'road kill', and beating her the last 50m of the run.
I love endurance sports. Being able to complete a triathlon right side my mom couldn't have been a better day. Our goal was under 2 hours. Sure enough-we did it. We came in with a time of 1 hour, 52 minutes, & 21 seconds. I was so proud that I, at 15, beat the other 35 people in my wave.
I couldn't have pictured doing it with anyone other than my mom. She's the greatest & best coach I've ever had. I am looking forward to doing more races like that with her!
I just want to let my mother know that I love her more than words can describe. She's the one coach who hasn't ever given up on me. I know for a fact that she won't ever let me run alone through this long race I have to complete through life. She sets a great example for me-like way more than anyone knows. I couldn't picture having any other mom & it doesn't matter because I never want one. Thank you mom for teaching me how to be strong & push through at the very end. I hope we can keep our racing streak up! I love you & Happy Mother's Day!
